How we compare invoice apps, and how we check our facts.

We make Jiffy, and Jiffy appears on our own comparison pages. That is a conflict of interest, so this page says exactly how we work. You can check every claim against the sources below.

Why this page exists

Most "best invoice app" lists are written by someone who earns money when you click. Ours is written by the maker of one of the apps on it. We would rather say so openly and let you verify the facts than pretend to be neutral.

Three pages follow these rules: the comparison pages (Jiffy against one other app), the best invoice apps list and the speed proof. They are written and checked by the founder, and the about page says who that is.

How we choose the apps

The apps are well-known invoicing tools for freelancers and small businesses. The English list has 10 apps besides Jiffy; the Dutch pages also cover Dutch bookkeeping tools. An app is added when we expect people to compare it with Jiffy, not because it paid or asked to be listed.

We do not drop an app because it is better than Jiffy at something. Each comparison page has a section for who should stay with the other app and who should try Jiffy, and the list says where each app beats us.

The rows we compare

The same rows are used on every comparison page and in the best-of list. Here is what each one means.

Free plan with no end date
Whether the app has a free plan that does not end after a trial. A short free trial does not count.
Where it runs
Where you can use the app: in a browser, as an iPhone and Android app, or both.
Quotes your client signs online
Whether you can send a quote that your client accepts or signs online.
Clients pay online by card
Whether your client can pay an invoice online by card from a link or button on the invoice.
Automatic payment reminders
Whether the app sends payment reminders on its own, without you writing each one.
Recurring invoices
Whether the app can repeat an invoice on a schedule, for retainers and monthly work.
Invoice languages
How many languages an invoice can be made in, when the app states a number.
Invoice by voice (AI)
Whether you can describe the job by voice and get an invoice draft.
Team members
Whether more than one person can work in the same account.
Full bookkeeping (ledger, bank feeds)
Whether the app is a full bookkeeping tool, with a ledger and bank feeds, and not only an invoicing tool.
How you pay
How the app charges: by the week, month or year, or free with a fee on payments. We name the model, never the amount.

When we do not know: "Not listed"

Every fact about another app comes from that app's own website. If the site does not say, we write "Not listed". We never guess, never fill a gap with what is usual for that kind of app, and never use a review site or a rumor as a source.

This means a "Not listed" cell can still be a feature the app has: it only says that we could not confirm it on their site on the check date. When an app adds the information, we update the row.

No prices, no ratings

We do not print the prices of other apps. Prices and plans change often, and a stale number would mislead you. Instead every comparison links to the app's own pricing page, listed below.

We also give no scores, stars or rankings. Jiffy is listed first because it is our app. The other apps are not ranked: the order is not a verdict.

Our sources

Each row of each comparison was read on the vendor's own site. The newest check date is October 10, 2026. The table lists the pages we start from.

How we measure speed

Our speed claim comes from 20 timed runs, measured on October 11, 2026, with a median of 2.6 seconds, a fastest run of 2.4 seconds and a slowest of 9.1 seconds. The runs use typed text: the clock starts when the sentence is submitted, and speech recognition is not part of the measurement. Every run is listed on the proof page, the slow ones too, and the raw data is a download there.

Corrections

If a fact about your app is wrong or out of date, write to [email protected] with the page you saw it on and a link to where your own site says otherwise. We check it against that page, fix the row, and update the check date.

The same goes for anything about Jiffy. If the app cannot do something we say it can, we want to know.

See it for yourself.

Start free and judge Jiffy on what it does, not on what we say.
