Recurring invoices

Recurring invoices: set it once, Jiffy sends it every month.

Retainer clients, monthly maintenance, a desk you rent out: the same invoice, every month, and one more thing to remember. Set it up once in Jiffy. The invoice goes out on schedule with a fresh number and date, while you get on with the work.

How to set up a recurring invoice, on Ultra

A recurring invoice starts as a normal invoice. You add a schedule and send it once; Jiffy takes it from there.

  1. Make the invoice with the client, the lines and the price.
  2. Turn on “Recurring invoice” and choose how often, on which day and until when.
  3. Send it. That first invoice starts the series, and the next one is made on the date you chose.

Schedules for retainers, rent and subscriptions

Pick the rhythm that matches the deal you made:

  • Every day, week, month or year, or every few of them: every 2 weeks, every 3 months.
  • On the same day each time, on the 1st, the 15th, the last day of the month or a day you pick.
  • Running until you stop it, until a date, or for a set number of invoices, like 12 monthly payments.

Send automatically, or check first

Choose per series what Jiffy does on the day. Send it straight to the client, with the same payment link and reminder settings as the last one. Or prepare it as a draft and let you know, so you can add this month’s extra hours before it goes out.

Each new invoice gets its own number, today’s date and the client’s current payment terms. If something stops it from going out, Jiffy keeps it as a draft and tells you.

Getting paid on repeat

A recurring invoice is only half the job; the money has to come in too. Turn on online payments so the client pays by card or Apple Pay from the email, and let automatic reminders follow up when a month slips. With the advanced reports on Ultra you also see a forecast of your recurring income.

Pause, change or stop a series

All your series sit on one screen, with the client, the schedule, the amount and the date of the next invoice. Pause one while a client takes a break and resume it later: Jiffy picks up from the next date and does not send the months you skipped. Stop a series and the invoices already made stay exactly where they are.

FAQ

Good questions.

Does every recurring invoice get its own number?

Yes. Each new invoice gets the next number in your sequence and the date it is made, so your records stay in order.

Can I check a recurring invoice before it goes out?

Yes. Set the series to prepare a draft instead of sending, and Jiffy lets you know when it is ready for you.

What happens when I pause a series?

No new invoices are made. When you resume, Jiffy continues from the next date that is not in the past; skipped months are not made afterwards.

Which plan do I need?

Ultra. You can try it free for 7 days. Invoices already made always stay, whatever plan you are on.
