Free invoice template
Free snow removal invoice template
Snow removal is billed on the weather: some months you plow a dozen times, others not at all. The invoice has to show each event, with the date, what you did and what it cost, so a property manager or homeowner can match it to the storm. The template below bills a month of plowing, shoveling and salting for a small commercial lot.

What goes on it
What to put on an invoice for snow removal contractors
- The property address and the dates of each snow event
- Each service per event: plowing, shoveling, salting, de-icing, stacking
- The trigger in the contract, such as plowing at 2 inches of snow
- Per-push or per-visit price and the number of events in the period
- Extras: after-hours call-outs, snow relocation and ice management
- A reference to your service logs or photos with dates and times
- The due date, and payment details
How you bill
How snow removal contractors bill
Three models exist: per event (a price per push or per visit), seasonal (a flat price for the whole winter, regardless of the weather) and hourly for heavy or irregular jobs. Per event shares the risk with the customer, while seasonal gives them a predictable cost and you a steady cash flow. Many commercial contracts mix them, with a seasonal base and per-push fees above an accumulation threshold.
Add-ons are salt, ice melt, sidewalk work, and snow stacking or hauling. Bill these separately so the customer can see what they pay for. Seasonal contracts are usually billed in monthly instalments, which suits recurring invoices and takes little effort once set up.

Tips to get paid faster
- Keep a log with date, time and photos for every visit. Commercial clients ask for proof, especially after a slip-and-fall claim.
- State the trigger depth in your contract and on the invoice, such as 2 inches, to avoid disputes about whether a push was needed.
- Invoice monthly, not per storm, for contract clients. They like predictable paperwork.
- Bill salt and ice melt as a separate line. Prices change from one winter to the next.
- Use a payment reminder for property managers who pay late; winter costs are heavy and cash matters.
Watch out
Common invoice mistakes
- Billing a push without recording when it was done
- Not stating the trigger depth, so the customer questions each event
- Billing seasonal clients in one lump at the end of winter
