Free invoice template

Free cleaning invoice template

Cleaning is repeat business, which means the same invoice goes to the same customers again and again. A clear template makes each one fast to write and easy for your client to approve. The one below covers a regular visit, a deep clean and the extras people ask for, like oven or windows.

Edit the example lines, save the PDF from this page and send it. No account, and nothing you type is uploaded. For homes and offices that you clean every week, see the note on recurring billing below.

    What goes on it

What to put on an invoice for cleaning businesses

    • The cleaning address and the dates of the visits you are billing
    • Each visit or service as a line: the regular clean, deep clean, move-out clean
    • Your rate as a fixed price per visit or per hour, whichever you quoted
    • Add-ons priced separately: oven, fridge, windows, laundry, inside cabinets
    • Supplies or equipment charges if you charge for them
    • Any discount for recurring service, shown as a line so the saving is visible
    • Your satisfaction promise in a sentence, and how to pay

    How you bill

    How cleaning businesses bill

Residential cleaning is normally a flat price per visit based on the size of the home and how often you come: weekly, every two weeks or monthly. First visits and deep cleans cost more, so bill them as hourly or as a separate flat line. Add-ons such as the oven, refrigerator or windows are priced one by one, which makes it easy for a client to add or drop them.

Commercial and office cleaning is more often a monthly contract, with a fixed fee for an agreed schedule and extras billed on top. Most clients are on repeat service, so the same invoice goes out again each month. That fits recurring invoices, which create it for you and stop the typing. See also the invoice app for cleaners.

    Get paid faster

    Tips to get paid faster

    1. Bill at the start of the month for recurring clients. Cleaning is a service they use before they pay for it, so asking first protects your cash.
    2. Separate the one-time deep clean from the weekly rate, or clients assume the higher first-visit price is the new normal.
    3. Price add-ons per item and list them. Customers like choosing, and you like getting paid for the extra work.
    4. Set a short due date of 7 days. The amounts are small and long terms just invite delays.
    5. Let customers pay by card with a link on the invoice, and use payment reminders so you do not have to chase by text.

    Watch out

    Common invoice mistakes

    • Absorbing extras like inside the oven because it is awkward to ask for more money later
    • Quoting a flat price for a home much bigger or dirtier than described, with no clause to adjust it
    • Mixing several months on one invoice, so the client cannot tell what each visit cost

    FAQ

    Questions

What should a cleaning service invoice include?

Your business details, the client and cleaning address, visit dates, each service with its price, add-ons, any discount, total, due date and how to pay. A sentence on your satisfaction promise helps.

Should I charge per hour or per visit?

Flat per visit is easier for regular home cleaning. Hourly suits deep cleans, move-outs and unpredictable jobs. Many cleaners use both in the same invoice.

How do I invoice a recurring client?

Reuse the same invoice with a new number and date each month. The Jiffy app can repeat it automatically if you want to stop retyping it.

Is this cleaning invoice template free?

Yes, free to use with no sign-up. Fill it in here and download the PDF.
